September update number 2

This is a milestone for me, twice in one month.  I've been busy quilting my daughters quilt.  It needed to be finished before we head off on our travels, so I'm going to hold off posting any cross stitching progress until next month.

I made Jaybird Quilts Gravity BOM.  It is a King sized quilt and actually sold as one pattern, but you could do it as a block of the month if you wished,  I'm actually making 2 of these, but I will be getting the second one professionally quilted.  My daughter chose her own quilting designs and I finished it today.  I am doing this one on my domestic Bernina.  Those who quilt will know what a monumental task this is.

Here are some photos for you all:

Now I can get back to cross stitching.  To reward myself, I treated myself to some charts from the HAED sale:
 Frozen (ortega)
 Woodland Guardian (no background)
 My Sweet Pet
 Kindred Spirits (no background)

Until next time, happy stitching!

September post

So, I managed to remind myself to post on my blog, yay me!

We are currently downsizing from our family home to a smaller home and also we are going to be traveling in our caravan for quite a while, so deciding on what projects to take with me is becoming a big problem.  Of course, going through each project, it calls out to me and tells me to take it with me.

I've managed to get it down to one BAP project - SS The Fantastic Voyage MC, and 3 Mirabilia Designs - Christmas in London, Gypsy Queen and Enchanted Mermaid.  I also have a few projects all parceled up ready to be posted to me care of the local post office when we are staying somewhere for a week or more.

I will be taking part of a quilting project with me, as I have completed most of this quilt, but can't really put it together fully on the road.  My machine is a tiny Elna Opal, which turns out to work on 12 volt.  It is a bit noisy, but at least I can straight stitch on it and then do the rest when I get home.

Did I buy anything this month?  Good question, I have the brain power of a gnat for remembering at the moment.  Let's see if I can find anything I've bought..

I got a few Mirabilia Designs:

Rapunzel

Mother's Bliss

Deco Spirits

I did make 3 new starts since my last post.

Gypsy Queen on Colour Cascade Fabrics Raspberry Swirl

Enchanted Mermaid on Colour Cascade Fabrics Silver Spring

Blossom Collector on Colour Cascade Fabrics Storms

All are 28 count Jobelan.

Here are some pictures of my new sewing room.

I'm Back!!

I can't believe it has been a year since I posted on my blog.  I must say, how awful of me.

Well, in that time, hubby and I retired and are going to be travelling around Oz for a little while after we settle some things here first.

I guess I better get to the all important stitching updates:

I have started a few new projects, but don't have the pictures to hand, I will make a note to post them in my next update (which will not be a year this time LOL)

Mum finished her projects for her grand-daughters and this is the final one all framed up:

I have completed two of Nora Corbett's bewitching pixies - Electra and Gwen and gifted them to my good friend Christine in the UK.

Actually I do have an update of Mirabilia's Garden Party.  I am stitching this on Colour Cascade Fabrics 28 count Welcome to the Jungle Lugana Opal.  I am absolutely thrilled with how this is coming up on this fabric:

I did attend the inaugural Mirabilia retreat in March of this year and will post some pictures next time.  Needless to say, it was so much fun and I have made some new friends and cemented some lifelong friendships with others who I already knew through Facebook.  I can't wait to see them again in May next year for the next Mirabilia retreat.

Next year, in October, I am attending the inaugural Colour Cascade Fabrics stitching retreat.  This is a general stitching retreat and not designer specific, but I am sure will be so much fun.  Here is where you can find some more information on this retreat - 2017 stitching retreat

Now for a year long stash update - my apologies for not putting the name on some of them, it is a pretty long update so I will get around to it soon.

I am not posting my Mirabilia purchases as I can't figure out what I have purchased of these charts in the last year.
